Planning My Honeymoon To Hawaii
My fiancee and I are currently planning our honeymoon to Hawaii. After carefully looking at the Hawaiian islands, we believe that we will end up going to Maui. As we are getting married in August, September or October seems like a great time to go on the honeymoon.
Maui has been ranked as one of the top honeymoon spots in the world. Maui is an attraction-filled destination that seems like a compilation of Hawaii's best qualities. Surfing beaches? Check. Volcanoes? Several. Family-friendly? Definitely. Posh resorts? Absolutely. The legions of vacationers that come back home teary-eyed and hypnotized can't be wrong -- this is where you learn Hawaii is more than a series of islands, it's also a spiritual experience. Step off the plane, take one whiff of the plumeria blooms and you'll be hooked.
One great thing about Maui compared to the island of Oahu is that there is a much more natural, tropical landscape to it. Where there are waterfalls and volcanoes on Maui, Oahu has just craters and beaches. There is also more city life in Oahu, something we are not really looking for on a honeymoon. They also have a lot of great travel deals too when booking through a site such as Expedia.
Maui is also nice in that there is a ferry service which can take visitors to and from the island of Lanai. This will add even more to the vacation experience. The Road to Hana is supposed to be one of the most scenic roads in the United States. I am hoping to see some great views while I am there. To top it all off, October begins whale-season. If I was able to see a whale on top of all of this, it would be amazing.
The honeymoon won't be taking place until 2014, but that just gives me 2 years to become more and more eager to go. I can't wait.
