Removing a Virus with the 2 Best Virus Removal Too
Removing a virus does not have to be a daunting task that only your local computer repair shop or computer geek cousin can do. There are free tools that make removing a virus from your computer an easy task, and in some cases you can set up automation so that you continue your protection into the future.
Today I want to introduce you to two very powerful tools, both free, that will free your computer of most viruses. Removing a virus from your computer is very simple and can be done usually in less than an hour.
Having said that, today I want to cover how to use both tools in conjunction with each other to ensure the virus is gone, as well as setting one tool up so that it protects you from future virus attacks.
The first tool we need to download and install is Microsoft Security Essentials, this tool can be found on Microsoft’s website and downloaded for free. Installing the program is very simple just follow the onscreen prompts and you will be up and running in no time.
The second tool is MalwareBytes, you can find this tool at MalwareBytes.org, and it too can be downloaded for free. The installation process is the same for this tool, just follow the steps on the screen and it will be installed in just a few minutes.
Now that both programs are installed, we can get started with removing the virus. Start by running Microsoft Security Essentials. Once it’s opened you will see a dashboard with some information as to whether the program is up to date, and currently protecting your system. On the right hand side of the windows click full scan, then click the scan button on the bottom. A full scan can take several hours to complete, but is necessary to ensure that your entire system is scanned and the virus can be found and removed from your computer.
Once the scan is complete, you will need to do the same with MalwareBytes. It is done in the same manner, simply open the program, click full scan then click scan. A full scan from MalwareBytes usually takes longer than Microsoft Security Essentials, but again it is necessary to completely remove the virus from your computer.
Once you have completed both scans you will need to reboot your system, and finally your computer will be free of the virus that was infecting your system. That’s it in a nutshell, pretty simple right? If you are more of a visual person, I have created a video that shows you each step, which buttons to click and what to do if you want to take your virus protection to a whole new level, you can watch it on our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B867nm7VTnI
