Florida State Meets Auburn For NCAA Championship
The Florida State Seminoles, ranked number 1 in the nation, will face the Auburn Tigers in the BCS National Championship game in Pasadena. The Seminoles defeated the Duke Blue Devils 45-7 in the ACC Championship game to make the national title gamel. Auburn defeated Missouri in the SEC Championship game behind 545 yards rushing, including over 300 from running back Tre Mason. Ohio State had been the number 2 ranked team going into the weekend, but they lost to Michigan State. Ohio State, despite being undefeated, was thought to not be nearly as good as Florida State or Auburn.
Florida State is led by their freshman quarterback Jameis Winston, who is the front-runner for the Heisman trophy this season. They have a great receiving core, great running backs, a solid offensive line, and a top-tier defense. They are definitely going to be a challenge for Auburn.
Auburn is led by their running attack. Quarterback Nick Marshall and running back Tre Mason. The two player run the read option to near perfection, running the ball well against Alabama and then crazy against Missouri. Auburn has a solid defense as well. They have faced a stronger schedule than Florida State and come from the SEC, the conference that has won the past 7 BCS national championships.
It should be a very exciting game on January 6, 2014 in Pasadena. Fans will get to see if Florida State's season domination will hold up against a vaunted SEC team.
