Usain Bolt Adds 3 Gold Medals In London
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt confirmed his status as the fastest man on the planet by adding his 4th, 5th and 6th gold medals in London. Bolt won gold medals in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 4 x 100 meter dash. Bolt became the first Olympian to not only win the 100 and 200 meter dashes in back-to-back Olympics, but added the 4 x 100 meter dashes in both Olympics.
There was speculation that Bolt would not be able to duplicate the records he set in Beijing in 2008, but this did not come close. Bolt had lost in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes in Olympic qualifying to his home countryman Yohan Blake. Bolt showed up in the big moment however. He set an Olympic record in the 100 meter dash. Jamaica went on to set a world record in the 4 x 100 meter dash.
Bolt is one of the greatest Olympians of all time after his performance at the past two Olympics. The man known as Lightning Bolt is truly an Olympic great.
